The CENTER is in Homer's Square, in the port of IOS Island, 40 meters from the marina and 100 meters from the port where ferries anchor. Opposite the building is the station of the buses that travel to the far end of the island.

The CENTER has been working since 1990 as a department store and consists of a ground floor and two floors completely restored, it has however (4) four main entrances.

. Ground floor : 100 sq. meters (one main shop) with three main entrances
. First floor : 150 sq. meters (five shops with two WC) among them and air conditioners in every store, with one entrance
. Second floor : (7) seven rooms with toilet and shower in each room.

The CENTER is well known all over the island due to its success as a shopping area. Thanks to its location, combined with its attractive exterior and bulk, it attracts practically every visitor of the island. In the port, there are hotels, camping grounds, restaurants, rooms to let, bars, travel agencies, coffee shops etc.
IOS is 7 hours by normal boat from Piraeus, and 4 hours by high-speed boat from Piraeus or Rafina port, and during the tourist season (6 months) there are at least 6 to 8 ferry boats on a daily basis. Further more, there are daily ferry-boats itineraries that connect IOS with other islands and high-speeds also.

The number of tourists according to the information given by Port Authorities, mounts to 250.000 visitors per season.

Apart from the above, there is a large number of tourists that visit the island by yachts, cruisers etc. There is a heliport available on the island and the construction of an airport is on the way. It is connected by plane to the islands of Paros, Naxos, Santorini, which are located at a distance of 15-20 miles from IOS.
